This was a very unique book. Its a great book for those still searching for God or learning about religion in general. It highlights in struggles young couples go through while also showing true family values when a traggidy strikes close within the family. The book talks about depression and how it can happen without anyone else realizing and how easily depression can turn to suicidal thoughts. But family support, encouragement and be living in God and his miracles can truly make a difference.The ending is horrible haha. It leaves you with so many questions; BUT all those questions are answered in the 2nd book! (together they are amazing and both r must reads).
I cried more times then I'd like to admit. Some were because ive faced similar issues with my family and I could feel the sadness; while a few were happy years.
The only thing reading this book that I struggles with was Michelle's close bond with her friend Trevor.. It was something that I had a hard time understanding from the start. After talking about it with my husband I learned it's a issue a lot of couples have faced and we r just a unique couple and that's why it bothers me.
This book has really helped me understand God the bible and help me learn how simple it is to accept God and prey. I've always been a Christian but the wording in the bible has been hard for me to understand. The way Michelle's grandparents explain the verses really make sense to me and have helped me understand the bible more!

There were a few times I almost quit reading this book, but I’m so glad I didn’t quit. Michelle is a vibrant young woman trying to figures her place in the world, and the world’s place in her. Her search leads her to New Age beliefs and Blend Therapy. I really struggled reading about the things she as learning in her classes as they go against my beliefs as a Christian. I almost stopped reading a few times while going through some of that because I felt a bit like those beliefs were what the book was promoting. Thankfully there was a generous sprinkling of strong Christian characters sharing their concerns about these beliefs. I can say now that having read of Michelle’s experiences has opened my mind to what some of my favorite people have been faced with in their journey through life, and what they may be seeing of value in their version of religion. I can also see ways that those beliefs may be tempting to me which is helping me build myself a better stronghold of faith. I realize that if I’d have read some of the reviews I wouldn’t have been so concerned about where things were headed. I’m grateful for the eye opening this book gave me and look forward to the next book.
Hines does an exceptional job with this novel, especially the New Age occult bent. In fact, had I not first been introduced to her writing with a latter novel in the sequel, I wouldn't have read beyond the first couple of chapters because of the depth of detail given in explaining the New Age philosophy. Since I am grounded in Jesus Christ , and had read a different book of Hines, I continued reading to see how she would bring the truth of Jesus being the narrow way to fruition. Be careful because if you come from a background where you have not been trained in the teachings of God and are not solid in your faith in Jesus, you may be caught up in an occult movement before you get to the truth presented later in the book. It is an excellent read and would be given 5 stars if Hines didn't take so long to have the gospel presented in this story.
This was such a great book. The beginning I had to keep reading the reviews to make sure it was a Christian book and not something else.
I love that the author actually had real life experiences with a lot of the stuff written in the book. Knowing that she is not writing from the unknown, but from a lot of actual feelings and experiences.
I would recommend this book to anyone needing a great book to read or someone questioning God and his sovereignty. I loved this book!
For the ending of this book, I would give it 5 stars. I tried to read this book on three separate occasions, and could never quite get into the book and finish reading it. I am not one who quits, so I keep on until I could read the book. I felt it was pretty dark, and not much hope, until the last chapter, and then I felt the author, Rosemary Hines did an awesome job of tying the ends together, and there was hope. After I got into the book, I thought it was well written, very detailed. I felt the author had been there, done that, and had experienced a lot of the stuff she wrote about. The ending was great.
I loved this book. I was born a christian, my father was a Baptist pastor and I converted to Islam when I was 15. I am now 46 and still a Muslim. I enjoyed the book for the story and the spiritual side of it did not impact me. I think It highlighted many issues the normal couple and even families go through, found nothing at all objectionable like the first review of this book suggedted. If this book could bother anyone at all they need to reflect on themselves, not a work of fiction...
Michelle Baron moved to Oregon with her husband Steve because he was made a junior partner in a law firm there. This was a big step for someone who just got out of law school. Michelle had to much time on her hands and gets mixed up with yoga, and people who leading her in all kind of new age teachings. Then she gets mixed up with a man named Trevor Wind who is really far out and he really is trying to get intimate with her. His name Wind is just how some people are in real life they flow from one crazy thinking to another. This is a good read for you if you are grounded in the truth that there is only one way to eternal life in heaven and that is through Jesus Christ who is the Way the Truth and the Life. I pray that everyone who reads this book finds Him Jesus the only Way to Peace and Joy.
Though out of a dream is an interesting book, I was troubled by so much detailed information on New Age. Just as I wouldn't indulge in a Ouija board, as a Christian, I don't believe it is good to get too far into unhealthy (spiritually) things. While this book took this to the edge, it was a good book where in the end, characters made good decisions. But getting there took me through too much garbage and bothered me.
